How to use Batches in GP Reports Viewer |
|
Did you know you can put your Crystal reports in batches and print them all at the same time using GP Reports Viewer? Here are the steps to create a batch of reports:
-
Open the Batch Maintenance window: Reports > GP Reports Viewer >[Go To Button] Batch Setup.
-
Enter a Batch ID.
-
Add report favorites to the batch by selecting a favorite in the tree and clicking the Insert button. Clicking on a report group will add all the reports in that group to the batch. To remove a report from the batch select the report in the list on the right and click the Remove button.
-
When all the reports for the batch have been selected click the Save button.
Once a batch is set up, to print it, go to Reports > GP Reports Viewer >[Go To Button] Print Batch, select your batch from the list, change any parameter values you may need to and click Print. Batches are user and company specific, so you can set up as many as you want without cluttering anyone else's batch list. |
Tell Crystal what time it is!
How to set the current date and time |
There are times you may not want to use the current date and time when printing a Crystal report. Here are some examples:
- When creating a report for a future presentation you may want to show the presentation date and time, not the current date and time.
- If you have a report using the current date and/or time in formulas rather than using a parameter and you want to test running the report with a past date. Or test for issues on the 29th of February or for months with 31 vs. 30 days.
A little known function in Crystal Reports allows you to set the 'current' date and time to whatever you want. To do this go to Report > Set Print Date and Time and enter the desired date/time. |
